Alan Trammell

I have met Alan Trammell (who is in my opinion the greatest Detroit Tiger shortstop of all time) about 3 different times in the last 10 years. I met him a couple times at the Tigerfest and once in Grand Rapids on a Tigers Caravan. Alan has been my favorite sports athlete since I was a kid growing up. He was someone I always like to listen to do interviews as he was to the point, very upbeat and always had something good to say. He was a professional and admire the way he handled himself throughout his career. I was sorry to see him let go from his managerial position as the Tigers head coach. I think if they would have given him better guys, he would have gone alot further with managing. He will always be a Tiger though and the fans still love him. Thanks Alan for all the great years.

Sean Astin

I met Sean Astin in Chicago at a convention about 2 years ago. It was right before The Return of the King was to be released and I was very excited as I have really loved those movies and books. We got to the convention extra early and stood in a huge room full of people and we were to all funnel through one doorway. It was funny when people started mooing like cows as it felt as if we were going to be moved to the next pasture. Luckily, when the door opened many people went to different areas and was pleasantly suprised to be about 20th in line. We then sat for about 2 hours before Sean arrived right on time and ready to go. He played the crowd and they loved him. He stood up on a chair and took pictures of the crowd and smiled for pictures. By that time I was very excited to meet Sean and get a autograph on my Two Towers poster. I have been a fan of Sean's for a long time since movies such as the Goonies, Rudy and Toy Soldiers. If many of you did not know he is the son of John Astin who played Gomez on the old Adamms Family series and Patty Duke who has been in many films also. When it was my turn to meet Sean he greeted me with a warm hello and asked about the shirt I was wearing and if I was from Tennessee. I also asked him about my poster and he said he had one framed in his home. He started to sign my poster in silver and the marker did not work right, so he carefully and kid you not he very carefully went over his other silver writing with a new black marker and it looks awesome. What kind of guy would do something like that as most celebrities you can't make out what they are writing. He was very polite and he gladly took a picture with me, shook my hand, and said thanks for coming. I would have to say that in the time he was there he was this way to all the people that greeted him and even stayed longer to sign autographs for those that had waited in line for so long after he was suppose to leave. As big of a star as he has become from the Lord of the Rings movies he is still very down to earth and thought that was great. Sean you made me a fan for life. Thanks for your kindness.

Tim Rushlow

My first blog is on my favorite singer Tim Rushlow. Tim is formally from the group Little Texas which was one of the great country groups of the 1990's. Tim had some big songs with Little Texas such as What Might Have Been, God Blessed Texas, and Amy's Back In Austin just to name a few. When the group broke up in the mid 1990's, Tim went on to a solo career and in my opinion put out one of the greatest solo albums that I remember titled simply Tim Rushlow and later renamed Crazy Life. That album is filled with fun songs and great lyrics. I especially like American Cars and The World Turns. After a short hiatus, Tim formed a group called Rushlow and put out another great album titled Right Now. It has some great songs on it including I Can't Be Your Friend Anymore, Texas Is My Kind of Town, and Speechless. I can't say enough about how great these albums are. I have met Tim about 5 different times. I met him with Little Texas in Muskegon, MI and found Tim and all the guys in the band to be very nice appreciative. They signed autographs and took pictures and just really made us feel welcomed. I also met Tim during his solo career and my wife and I had the chance to speak to him during a fan club party for quite a while. He is very kind and treats you as a friend and that is what I found in him that is missing is so many other artists. A couple years later when we met him at the Fan Club party with Rushlow he took the time to talk to my 2 year old daughter and even sketch her a funny picture. She remembers him and everytime we are in the car she wants us to play "our friend Tim's cd". My family thanks him for his kindness and his time and will always be a fan and support him with any music or concerts that come our way.
